The Tea-Tree Gallery is the manifestation of a creative inspiration. The passionate trusting energy necessary for this place and space was, and still is, the original vision.

Along the way, the hard cold realities of business in the 3D world constantly challenge and provoke the innocence of such an original vision, yet that is life in so many ways for everyone.

So here and now is the space and the place for creative expression. The Tea-Tree Gallery is above all a work in progress. The relationship between the artist and their art and the integrity and respect for the development of the Tea-Tree Gallery is fundamentally important to the success of the exhibitions in this space.

It is my intention to make available to local residents and visitors alike a relaxed ambient creative enviroment to showcase the artistic talents of the people, places & impressions of our Portland & regional artists through an ever evolving wide range of mediums.

Call to artists:

I currently invite all artists with something to express or communicate through their art and with the desire to exhibit in the various gallery rooms to contact me.

Terms and conditions for exhibiting:

Every relationship and agreement in life can be unique and this is the case with artists seeking to exhibit at The Tea-Tree Gallery. That is, I will discuss with you the specifics of your art and exhibition requirements However, some basic guidelines for exhibitors are as follows:

1. A fee will usually be charged for exhibiting.

2. This fee will be payable on booking of exhibition space. The aim underpinning the fee is that each exhibition should attain a level of professionalism/care for the work being exhibited and that some quality and/or smart and well targeted advertising will be necessary. Iam mindful of the likely budget issues and the fee is not intended to be a hindrance to the artist but rather to do justice to what needs to do be done to make your exhibition successful. Above all, that the space remains viable & accessible to artistic pursuits for the long term.

4. Exhibitors will need to present all artwork, information and pricing to reflect the style and quality of the work.

5. The Tea-Tree Gallery encourages some form of opening of the exhibition by the artist.

6. The artist is responsible for the hanging & unhanging of their artworks with any additional tacking to the exhibition gallery walls being repaired on completion.(I will supply fill matieral and paint for patching if required)

7. Support material(profile/CV) and pricing details will need to be provided to The Tea-Tree Gallery for interested customers and enquiries. Bank Deposit details provided for payment of Sales (less agreed commission)

9. A Fair commission will be charged on the sale of items.

10. The Tea-Tree Gallery Management will require and supply a contract between itself and artists to be in place prior to exhibition opening.

11. Exhibitions will be for periods of time to be negotiated between Management of the Tea-Tree Gallery and artists but will generally be between 2-4 week blocks

12. Contact can be made by phone or in person (03) 55237376

I look forward to working with you.
